Decades of Mission Critical Reliability Refined by Real World Operations
With decades of experience delivering mission-critical SATCOM solutions, Fisica Datron has built a reputation for reliability across U.S. and allied defense programs. Datron COTM antenna systems are deployed on numerous operational platforms and supported across multiple programs of record, performing in harsh, contested, and highly dynamic environments. That commitment extends beyond delivery, with responsive in-house sustainment, upgrades, and repair services designed to keep systems mission-ready with rapid turnaround times.
The FSS-4180 series represents Datron’s proven, fielded COTM foundation, with more than 2,000 systems deployed. The 4180 family is WGS certified and offers interchangeable Ka-, X-, and Ku-band configurations, providing flexibility to support a wide range of mission requirements.
Building on this operational heritage, Datron is expanding the COTM portfolio with the FSS-4140, a next-generation, low-profile, self-contained antenna system designed for modern ground and maritime platforms. The Ka-band variant has undergone WGS certification testing and, upon certification, will be the first low-profile COTM antenna approved for WGS operations, a key differentiator that delivers assured compatibility, reduced integration risk, and mission confidence in a compact, IP67-rated form factor. The 4140 antenna uses the same system cables and SNMP interface as the 4180 in order to simplify integration, sustainment, and fleet interoperability.
Driven by real customer feedback, Datron continues to refine and modernize its COTM solutions to meet evolving operational needs. An X-band variant of the FSS-4140is planned for early 2027, further expanding capability while maintaining a common architecture across the product line.
